)
.
You will be adding content to the course as the semester progresses. Each student
must
contribute a minimum of 4 new pages of 500 words each and edit 1000 words of your peers (words not written by you). In addition, one
can
earn 5 extra points on an upcoming exams by adding 5 annotated photos, 5 annotated videos, 5 annotated links and 5 comments on 5 different pages (pages not written by you). All contributions must be an honest effort to help the class understand important aspects of Spain.
Please use the following criteria when
writing a page:
- Essays should be original work written in your own words with proper acknowledgment from where one obtains information. Since this is a website one may link to another's website and mention the source in your essay. Any work that is presented as your own and is not will result in an F for the assignment or the course or even expulsion from the college.
- Essays should be on topics that you feel one needs to know regarding Spain and its cultures. This is an opportunity for the class, as a team, to develop an on-line textbook on Spain. The empty pages listed under "Navigation" are meant to get you started. Feel free to add a new page at any time. This is your space to build upon as a class.
- Be sure to tag your pages with keywords that will make it easier for others to find your information.
- When researching your topic remember that the library subscribes to the Sunday edition of El País. You may also want to explore electronic information sources that may be useful such as Marist's FoxHunt, El País, ABC, El Mundo, 20 Minutos or Google.Noticias. For more cultural information you may want to visit the site of the Instituto Cervantes or use print resources in the library. A good essay should include a minimum of three different sources. Be sure to include references that indicate from where you obtained information. Failure to do so could be interpreted as a form of plagiarism.
- Be sure to be mindful of your privacy and not include any personal information. You might give your username to your instructor only so that he/she is the only person besides you that can link your essay to you.
- Although these directions are written in English for clarity, all essays will be written in Spanish. If you need assistance adding accents and spellchecking in Spanish here are a few suggestions:
